The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Special Events campaigns are a series of events that raise money through several different strategies; Man & Woman of the Year; Students of the Year and The Leukemia Cup Regatta.  The Senior Campaign Manager is responsible for identifying fundraising candidates for these events, coaching them to reach their personal best in raising funds, providing them the encouragement and motivation to raise funds, assisting them in securing sponsorships and making personal asks to support the campaign for which they are a candidate. This is a fundraising position and those selected for interviews must have demonstrated fundraising successes.  The total revenue generated by this team of three is nearly $1.8 million annually in order to help blood cancer patients live longer and more fulfilling lives.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Identify and cultivate potential candidates for the campaigns (Primary responsibility for MWOY, assistance provided to Student of the Year and Regatta)
  • Oversee and manage fundraising goals including creating an executable plan for each candidate in order to reach those goals
  • Monitor fundraising progress of participants to determine appropriate strategies to maximize fundraising
  • Provide input into the development of a strategic plan for the fundraising campaign(s), including fundraising goals, budget recommendations, vendors, volunteer goals, timelines, and location of events
  • Develop strong relationships with volunteers, sponsors & key corporate & community leaders to support growth of program
  • Identify and cultivate long term relationships with candidates and volunteers who have potential to make a significant impact on the LLS mission
  • Maintain accurate financial records and continuously evaluate statistical data for entire program; report and maintain accurate information on prospect development, revenue forecasts, conversion and stewardship activity; track income and expenses; facilitate comprehensive campaign records, evaluations and reports
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with participants, volunteers and staff
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and its programs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer recruitment and partnership
  • Proven track record in meeting sales/fundraising goals
  • Demonstrated success identifying, implementing and growing corporate partnerships
  • Manages relationships intuitively, able to think conceptually and strategically
  • Thorough understanding of fundraising strategies, employing decision-making processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet critical deadlines
  • Team player dedicated to ensuring that the programs are projecting a professional, cohesive and collaborative image at all times
  • 4+ years of demonstrated success in fundraising, sales or corporate development
  • 4+ years of proven success in event fundraising and in motivating volunteers to raise money
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Highly organized and professional demeanor
  • Employee management skills including recruiting & terminating temporary employees
  • Technically proficient with Microsoft Office and database programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Motivational presenter to all demographics
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, listening and selling skills
  • Ability to work various evenings and weekends
  • Relationship driven
