This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Assistant Registrar at Greater Waterbury YMCA works with the Head Registrar on assigned day to day operations for all camps and child care programs.  25% of this position will be spent at Camp Mataucha. The Assistant Registrar creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Will assist the Head Registrar with all day to day operations for all camp and childcare programs – Camp Mataucha, Camp Oakasha, Watertown site’s Before and After Care.*NOTE:primary focus will be Camp Mataucha.
  • Responsible for aiding the entire billing process for childcare both on and off sites and Camp Mataucha and Oakasha. 
  • Handle inquires and payments ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Responsible for aiding the registration process, payment information, maintenance of all child development and camp files and records, and ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times. 
  • Maintain open communication with the staff and with the families and assist with collecting over- due or unpaid balances.
  • Responsible for aiding the weekly processing of all payments that come into the center and camps.
  • Assist Head Registrar to process registrations for Camp Mataucha, Oakasha and Summer Sunshine.
  • Responsible for regular invoicing of all related program areas.
  • Assist Registrar in the collection of overdue or unpaid balances for camp and before and after care.
  • Responsible for weekly deposits and processing all payments that come into programs.
  • Work directly with the Head Registrar on any billing or collection issues.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Experience in data entry with working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Proficient in Camp Brain, Daxko and MS office programs
  • Strong customer service and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
