The France digital campaigner is responsible for leading on and implementing a digital strategy for 350.org in France in line with national, regional and global strategies. The role holder will be developing and maintaining online tools and processes, managing key digital channels, and helping to scale up the breadth of our distributed campaigning.
Support of national digital projects and campaign goals [70%]
- Develop content, audience and channel strategies to increase the scale and impact of our campaigning in France
- Ensure 350 France’s channels and platforms are effective for communication, and help achieve our strategic goals
- Write and edit content such as blogs, webpages and action guides for our website
- Help to produce and moderate action pages, petitions and other materials using ActionKit, Wordpress and ControlShiftLabs
- Write, edit and send emails to our supporter lists in France to maintain audience engagement and support organising, mobilising and campaigning goals
- Manage the 350 France social media accounts, including growth strategy; content creation, including visuals and videos for social media use
- Coordinate the translation of content with our Translations team
Online organising [30%]
- develop and implement resources, materials, tools and processes to ensure breadth, accessibility and impact of our distributed campaigning work in France
- provide advice, digital support & training to our network
- Identify innovative digital organizing/campaigning techniques, tools and platforms, and integrate these into our work
- Proven experience of digital organising and campaigning experience – whether as part of non-governmental organisations, grassroots networks, or other groups
- excellent French communication skills, comfortable working in English
- ability to craft compelling written and visual content/stories in a simple and easy to understand way for different target audiences
- strategic understanding and knowledge of digital tools and social media
- experience managing social media channels and/or large email lists of supporters
- experience producing regular online content and resources
- at least a basic understanding of climate change
Desired (but not required) qualifications
- familiarity with some or all of the digital tools used by 350.org (ActionKit, ControlShiftLabs, Wordpress, Slack, Buffer, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Storify, Animoto)
- basic video production and editing skills
- experience in supporting local groups or campaigns in achieving their goals and in aligning with the goals and identity of a network/campaign/organisation
- Experience in campaigning on climate change and related issues
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced online collaborative environment and under time pressure. You will be comfortable working both independently and with a remote team; able to lead initiatives as well as take direction from others.
Compensation: €31,700 - €39,600
