We seek an experienced trainer and facilitator to join our team.

The Senior Director of Training will work in partnership with the Vice President of Programs and Leadership Training and the programs team to deliver innovative leadership and professional development programs. The ideal candidate will be able to embrace our non-partisan approach to prepare individuals, diverse in thought and background, to be leaders. They will facilitate hands-on learning in public, private, and nonprofit settings, and deliver and refine Coro’s unique leadership curriculum. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate and train Coro programs to a broad swath of clients, with a focus on developing women leaders in mid-career and senior positions
  • Design, modify, and deliver programs and curriculum that offer challenge and support to participants using adult learning methodology
  • Evaluate and generate post-program reports for programs this position administers, and use data to inform and improve programs and curriculum
  • Contribute as a thought leader on leadership development and civic engagement programs, staying current on literature, practices, and networks in relevant fields including training, professional development, and leadership development
  • Support business development such as fundraising/grant writing, strategic partnerships, alumni engagement, marketing & outreach, etc.
  • Develop and manage program budgets in collaboration with the VP of Programs and Leadership Training

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinating and collaborating with Coro program/training staff from other Coro centers to enhance the Coro brand nationally
  • Actively participate in Coro staff meetings, communications, and project management, including contributing to partnership proposals, program reports, conference presentations, and other strategic and administrative projects
Skills/Experience: 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of adult learning and leadership development theory
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to manage and complete both detail-oriented and high-level tasks concurrently
  • Bilingual language ability preferred
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel as needed
  • Awareness of and involvement in contemporary Bay Area issues and communities
  • Strong passion for Coro’s mission and for leadership development

EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of experience in leadership development, learning and development, and/or training and facilitation
  • Deep facilitation experience, focused on group learning experiences for adults
  • Training experience focused on women’s professional development
  • Coro experience desired but not required
