The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - the world's leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis, and one of the most innovative organization of its kind - is seeking a talented  Executive Director to work in their Gateway Chapter, located in Clayton, MO.

A nonprofit, donor supported organization, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) is the world's leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis (CF), a life-threatening genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. Established in 1955 as the National Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation (NCFRF) by parents and families of CF patients, the Foundation now consists of 700+ employees, a nationwide network of 120 care centers and best-in class research centers, as well as 54 local chapters (over 70 offices) that strive to fund lifesaving research and provide access to quality, specialized care and effective treatments for people with CF.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Executive Director will take an entrepreneurial approach to setting strategies and organizing operations to maximize the fundraising potential of this $1.9 million chapter. You must have the ability to establish a presence in the community and bring staff, volunteers and community leaders together to achieve a common goal.

Skills/Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate will have: at least 5 years of non-profit experience directing staff and partnering with volunteer boards, corporate contacts in St. Louis and the ability to parlay “the search for a cure” into effective relationship building and fundraising projects.
  • Experience providing strategic direction and practical oversight to a full range of special event fundraising including events that focus on the team fundraising model as well as success with Major Gift fundraising and Planned Giving programs is essential.
  • A sales acumen will round out the ideal candidate.
