This position requires demonstrated background, knowledge and expertise as it relates to mechanical systems, which include a Centrifugal chiller plant, plumbing, electrical, motors, and pumps.  Must have a positive attitude, be able to budget, communicate, and maintain a facility that exceeds the needs of our members.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • We are looking for someone that is able to pay attention to detail, especially high traffic areas of the 3rd and 4th floors as well as the locker rooms for men and women. 
  • They should conduct a daily detailed inspection of the facility and create a weekly work plan to ensure that problems and issues are addressed and repaired immediately.
  • They should be able to communicate to staff, members and tenants when facility issues will continue beyond that day, or impact stakeholders.
  • They must be able to maintain inventory of highly used parts and supplies so that down time is minimized. 
  • They will coordinate and supervise the work of 1 part time staff as well as all contractors and vendors who are utilized in facility repair including supervising the cleaning contractors. 
  • They will be responsible for creating a preventative maintenance system so that issues and problems can be addressed and repaired in advance of members being impacted. 
  • They will meet weekly with all tenants of the facility to ensure their needs are being met.  They will monitor the facility utilizing the Trane system and make the necessary adjustments to maintain a quality atmosphere. 
  • They will ensure daily delivery of laundry and resolve any issues that arise.
  • They will provide leadership for meeting room table and chairs set up and take down when required.
  • They must attend all required trainings and achieve required certifications.
  • They will also be required to help set up and tear down Turkey Trot and work at the event on Thanksgiving Day.
  • They will oversee the maintenance department budget including paying all contractor bills and assuring the department stays within the budgeted plan.
  • They must be available and accessible throughout the week to provide leadership when emergencies arise and perform other duties as requested and necessary. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Skills to perform light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, as well as HVAC systems and equipment. 
  • Have an understanding of swimming pool systems, spas and steam rooms. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required as this position will interface with staff, members, contractors, as well as other tenants that lease space at the T. Boone Pickens YMCA. 
  • Demonstrated background in creating schedules and a daily oversight program that focuses on preventive maintenance. 
  • Ensure that the laundry service for the members is operating effectively.
  • Available for occasional on-call situations after hours and on weekends.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $38,000.00 - $45,000.00
