CEO

This job is no longer available

Rockport, ME, United States
Full-time

The Penobscot Bay YMCA (established in 1915) is a thriving $4.5 M association with four locations serving greater Knox County in Maine. The association’s flagship branch in Rockport was built in 2002 and has over 6000 members, and since then, several additional locations serving surrounding communities have added to the Y’s impact in our service area. Our region is a popular tourist and artist destination, and the surrounding coastal region boasts beautiful ocean views, diverse landscapes, and year-round recreational opportunities. We are also a working-waterfront community and a hub of regional manufacturing with a growing year-round economy, blending a broad spectrum of socio-economic needs.

The association resides in an area with diverse demographics of affluence and poverty, summer and year-around residents, quality and challenged school’s systems, balanced by a common theme of hardworking well-meaning people. Although the Y is needed throughout the service area, the growth center of the association is in Rockland, where demands are much higher for subsided services and mission critical work.

The Y’s desired impact outlined in the Y’s recent strategic plan is to serve as a cornerstone of well-being, fostering partnerships and providing services to meet community needs. The Penobscot Bay YMCA does this by focusing on strengthening the academic achievement level and overall development of youth; serving as a regional leader in healthy living; and, being a primary resource for connecting and engaging individuals of all ages in healthy social environments.
