Senior Program Director, Membership & Wellness

Develop and manage a variety of membership and wellness programs that are responsive to member needs. Provide leadership to the management of membership and wellness programs. Participate in the cultivation and development of relationships that build member, staff and volunteer involvement. Participate in fund raising through annual support, special events and third party sources. Identify opportunities for programs that meet financial and service objectives. Cultivate relationships with community leaders to ensure program effectiveness. Administer program budget, materials, communication, marketing and promotion.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, develop and track certifications of staff to deliver high quality programs and services that respond to member needs.
  • Oversee the day to day operations of all membership and wellness programming including staffing, ordering and maintenance of equipment, cleanliness and cleaning schedules, and inventory management.
  • Manage the development, promotion and delivery of high quality programs that are responsive to member needs.
  • Produce an annual budget that is aggressive but attainable. Maintain your programs within this budget.
  • Manage and develop programs that are specific to the community and age appropriate including but not limited to Healthy Kids Day, sports programs, arts and humanities, movement classes, day camp, aquatics and teen programming, etc.
  • Be prepared to teach all classes in your area of responsibility and support staff in providing high quality programming and classes and offering Cause Driven Tours.
  • Participate as a member of the senior management team, and Association Quality Teams, responsible for the overall operation of the branch, as well as leader on duty responsibilities.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor of Science Degree in related field,
Skills/Experience: 
  • 4-6 years leadership experience in membership, wellness and/or aquatics programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to relay instructions in a clear and precise manner, and ability to relate to a diverse age and cultural membership.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience, fiscal management experience and proven ability to manage successful programs.
