The Creative Services team in the Development and Outreach Department of Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking an Associate to focus on the branding, graphic design, and photography efforts of the department. This full-time position is based in New York and reports to the Senior Creative Manager, also based in New York.

- Assist in the development and monitoring of international branding guidelines;
- Edit existing design & administrative templates for international distribution;
- Facilitate relationships with photo agencies and assist Department with image archiving & photo asset and caption distribution to global cities;
- Build relationships with global offices to understand global need for creative materials and connect global cities with creative requests with matching resources, whether internal or freelance;
- Review submitted design materials from global offices to ensure brand adherence;
- Support production and distribution of branded merchandise, maintain merchandise inventory, respond to internal merchandise requests, collect and manage merchandise orders, liaise with merchandise vendors, and ensure timely shipments;
- Assist in the maintenance of a global database of tested graphic designers, and build relationships with printers in key locations;
- Support Department with the formation of the organization’s Annual Report, which includes: building and maintaining timelines, listing donors accurately, designing the English version, overseeing the copy editing, coordinating translations and vetting process, and ensuring the smooth distribution of the report;
- Support Department with the creation of Voices for Justice annual dinner collateral, which includes: maintaining timelines, providing creative direction to designers, building understandable global templates, working with multiple departments to ensure accuracy where there is crossover, and carrying out other duties to ensure all fundraising dinners are as successful as possible;
- Support special projects including Human Rights Day and NYC Pride March;
- Process payments and manage Creative Services accounts including, but not limited to, FTP, Hightail, Drop box, and FedEx; and
- Perform other tasks as may be required by the Senior Manager, Creative Services.
- A minimum of one year of relevant work experience is required.
- Prior office/administration experience and strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail are required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of audiences are required.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are required. Working knowledge of Dreamweaver is preferred.
- Ability to work well under pressure while juggling multiple tasks simultaneously is required.
- Ability to make sound decisions consistent with functions is required.
- Self-motivation and the ability to prioritize with minimal supervision and work independently as well as function as a member of a team with staff in multiple locations globally are required.
- Proficiency in computer packages including MS Office applications is required.
- Strong interest in design trends, marketing, and/or photography is a plus.
