NRDC is seeking two (2) Conservation Interns to work with the Land team in our Washington DC office. The position is full-time for ten weeks. A stipend is provided via the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. The scholar will support NRDC’s advocacy on a variety of public land management and energy issues. The scholar will also work to promote effective engagement of diverse voices in government decision-making.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Research and writing to support NRDC’s advocacy on a variety of public land management and energy issues.
- Attend coalition meetings to coordinate advocacy with NRDC partners in Washington, DC
- Coordinate advocacy with NRDC partners on the ground in the West
- Attend meetings to lobby members of Congress and their staff
- Prepare social media and other outreach to NRDC members and the public
Skills/Experience:
- Passion for protecting the environment and promoting access to nature for all
- Strong research and writing skills
- Strong inter-personal skills
