AARP’s Washington, DC office is seeking Principal Software Engineers.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Working as a contributing member of the development team.
- Enhance, fix bugs, and increase performance of the existing codebase.
- Facilitating design/architecture discussions.
- Designing high quality code that’s highly scalable and extensible.
- Estimating, tasking and prototyping of user stories.
- Contributing clear and maintainable code to a shared codebase.
- Working in a cross-functional team on features, design and implementation. Investigating, learning and applying new technologies/processes.
- Clarifying requirements with team and client representatives.
- Consult with management and clients on project status, scope, design, and outstanding issues.
- Developing and presenting architectural roadmaps.
Educational Background:
Qualified applicants must have a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, plus related professional experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation.
