This position leads programs, staff and board teams that meet community needs and fulfill the mission of the Gateway Region YMCA. The Senior Program Director will lead community health initiatives in the Missouri/Illinois bi-state region.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Plan and implement community health programs in the Missouri/Illinois bi-state region that increase access to and consumption of healthy foods.
- Plan and implement community health programs in the Missouri/Illinois bi-state region that increase space for and engagement in physical activity.
- Engage organizations that serve youth in the YMCA Swim Outreach program including collecting all paperwork, working with branches to schedule pool time and lessons, and scheduling busses.
- Plan and supervise the implementation of programs to serve public housing communities.
- Lead a branch/board team for the annual support campaign.
- Host special events including taking a leadership role in the annual YMCA Book Fair.
- Supervise staff including providing guidance in budgeting, fundraising, supervision and outcomes tracking.
- Supervise building activities as Relationship Manager on Duty including ensuring the safety of all staff and participants.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
4-year degree required. Degree in public health, social work, health and fitness, or nutrition preferred.
Skills/Experience:
- Must have experience in community health, nutrition, or related field.
- Must have experience supervising staff.
- Must have program management experience.
- Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification and Emergency Oxygen.
Compensation/Benefits:
$44,000.00 - $55,000.00
