The internship provides an opportunity for a recent master’s-level graduate to demonstrate applied research skills and contribute to scientific research analysis and translation.  investigating environmental and human health impacts of protein production. The student may have the opportunity to co-develop research directions, depending on skills and interests. The intern will conduct natural and social scientific research in support of the Chief Scientist and the Global Lead Scientists. Science. They will compile research and analysis to contribute to innovative research and syntheses. They will support science leads in conducting literature reviews, managing and visualizing data and scientific information, supporting statistical analysis of datasets, and supporting the development of peer reviewed publications.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Reading and extracting data from scientific literature in ecological and social science fields
  • Providing support for executives and lead scientists for research, synthesis, and analysis
  • Managing datasets and databases
  • Building and managing citation libraries
  • Supporting the statistical analysis of varied datasets
  • Interpreting and visualizing data for communications and for publication
  • Contributing scientific writing, editing, and factchecking for reports and analyses
  • Providing logistical and research support as needed
Educational Background: 
Recent master’s graduate
Skills/Experience: 
  • Demonstrated experience with extensive literature research and review
  • Experience with citation management and software (Zotero and/or EndNote a plus)
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in statistical analysis (R/R Studio preferred)
  • Excellent research, writing, editing skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Ability to work productively both independent research assignments and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage time and productivity in a high paced, dynamic environment
  • Knowledge of conservation, earth systems, climate, and/or development preferred

Minimum Requirements:

  • Full-time (35 hours per week)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Database and quantitative analysis skills a plus
