The Health, Wellness & Membership Director will provide direction, leadership and oversight to the Membership Department and various Health & Wellness programs to include group exercise, personal training, athletic performance, member wellness initiatives, new member fitness integration, chronic disease programming, turf management and management of equipment. The incumbent will be accountable for the implementation and administration of Health & Wellness program development, promotion and member retention, staff & volunteer supervision and development, fiscal management, financial development and facilities management. The incumbent will also be responsible for membership growth and retention to meet YMCA goals through promotions, engagement, sales and marketing activities and providing outstanding service.
Health and Wellness Program Development and Promotion:
- Create, develop and implement dynamic Health & Wellness programs that meet the branch objectives and are responsive to member needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of and participation in health and wellness programs.
- Compiles statistics and provides data and reports as required for assigned programs.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with the staff, members and volunteers within the community.
Membership, Marketing, Sales and Retention
- Develop, implement and manage a membership, marketing, sales, engagement and retnetion plan that will promote recruitment of new members and retention of existing members, raise the number of new corporate memberships, meet monthly and annual membership targeted income goals, and ensure members receive premier service by monitoring and adherence to all membership policies, procedures and YMCA best practices.
- Develop, proeduce ad distribute program information necessary to promote YMCA programs, in accordance with the membership and marketing plan.
Staff Development and Supervision
- Develop and implement a comprehensive staff development plan in areas of responsibility.
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, disciplines, develops, schedules and evaluates staff and volunteers in assigned areas, creating and fostering a staff environment that is positive, professional and member focused, ensuring excellence in member satisfaction at all times.
- Perform all administrative and supervisory duties to include; supervision, performance evaluations, training and coaching, planning, scheduling, assigning and work direction; hiring/dismissing, payroll, employee recognition and discipline, address complaints and resolve problems effectively.
- Two to four years of experience in membership/customer service, marketing and/or sales preferred, or six to eight years direct experience.
- Minimum of two years commensurate experience in program management and staff supervision.
