The Child Care and Camp Director (“Director”) manages the Dartmouth Y’s school age child care programs including before school and after school programs at Potter Elementary School, Dartmouth Middle School, and at the Dartmouth Y. This includes managing staff for these programs, creating and implementing curriculum, and creating and maintaining relationships with the schools. The Director is also charged with managing the Dartmouth YMCA’s summer camp program, which hosts over 100 kids each week throughout the summer months. The Director is responsible for planning, supervising, and directing all day camp programs and staff. The Director is required to interface with parents and guardians in assuring positive child care experiences for the whole family. The Director will be required to manage an annual budget for all child care programs at the Dartmouth Y.
- Manage five school age programs throughout the school year including planning, ordering inventory and supplies, and preparing supplies and lesson plans.
- Maintain and implement curriculum activities.
- Maintain and upkeep licensing, QRIS level, and programs to meet EEC regulations.
- Develop and maintain relationships between the Dartmouth Y and families.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local schools.
- Promote branch programs including child care and camp programs.
- Manage and train staff including hiring, approving payroll, and disciplinary action as needed.
- Prepare and conduct staff training and meetings.
- Evaluate all child care programs, including summer camp, and determine areas for improvement.
- Manage, monitor, and report on issues of child care safety and security.
- Inventory and order supplies as needed.
- Develop and maintain annual budget for school programs and summer camp.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- A minimum of 2 years management/leadership experience.
- Strong leadership, supervisory and customer service skills and ability to create/maintain partnerships with families and staff.
- Ability to lead staff in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
- Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks or crisis situations effectively.
- Capacity to understand and manage financial responsibilities.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Experience working in an inclusive work environment and managing differences.

Salary: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00
