The YMCA of Greater New York reaches half a million New Yorkers through programs that focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.  We are seeking a Senior Director, Supply Chain and Logistics to lead the development, improvement and execution of procurement strategies across all channels of purchasing on behalf of the YMCA of Greater New York. The incumbent will be responsible for contract creation and negotiating with suppliers and service organizations for the procurement of goods and services to increase efficiency, elevate quality, and reduce costs. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for establishing streamlined policy and procedures and continually researching and implementing best practices for the YMCA’s entire supply chain.  The incumbent will also manage the organization’s Supplier and Service Organization (Vendor) Qualification processes.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Negotiate with vendors to provide the best products or services at the best quality / price / terms.
  • Create procurement policies and procedures and establish best practices.
  • Review all contracts for goods or services whether leased or purchased.
  • Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the Association.
  • Maintain key supplier and service organizations relationships.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Manage the Supplier and Service Organization (Vendor) Qualification processes.
Educational Background: 
BA/BA in Business or related field required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of procurement experience.
  • Knowledge of procurement techniques, negotiation and networking.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong emotional intelligence and leadership skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and previous experience working in Oracle preferred.
  • Experience in construction procurement a plus.
