The Child Care Director under the leadership of Director of Operations and CEO is responsible for the day-to-day operations at the Vernon YMCA Early Learning Center; which includes DHS Regulations, Keystone STARS Standards, enrollment, hiring, development/training, and supervision of staff.   This position is also responsible to maintain all Keystone STARS requirements, maintain staff and children files and the preparation of state inspections.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • To supervise  the staff and programs of the Vernon EarlyLearning Academy, Conneaut Lake YCare afterschool program and West End YCare afterschool program. 
  • To take all programs to STAR 4
  • Manage the income and expense of the programs
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education cirriculum from an accredited college or university. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum of 4 years or more experience in the classroom and 3 years supervising others. 
  • We are looking for someone with strong public relation skills, the ability to work well with children, parents, and volunteers. 
  • The candidate must have the ability to supervise, motivate and direct staff.  Schedule must flexible to meet the needs of the program.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $30,000.00 - $37,000.00
