Program Coordinator I- Early Childhood & Family Programs

Under the direction and supervision of the Early Childhood Director, the Program Coordinator will supervise the staff in Play & Learn.  Supervision will include hiring, scheduling work hours, completing reviews, and the day to day operations of the Play & Learn center. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • The Program Coordinator is responsible for the children in Play & Learn, ensuring a healthy, safe and loving environment. 
  • The Program Coordinator will also staff and oversee family programs including Kids Night Out and Family Events. 
  • The Program Coordinator will demonstrate Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility while providing for children’s social, physical, spiritual and mental well-being and will interact positively with parents to develop a trusting relationship. 
Educational Background: 
Must be at least 21 years old, have at least 1-2 years experience in the early childhood setting, and either a CDA, Associates or Bachelors degree in Education. 
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must have an understanding of the stages of child development. 
  • Must have experience in supervising staff and handling conflict situations with members and staff. 
  • Must be capable of establishing and maintaining positive relationships with staff, members, program participants, and with the general public. 
  • Must be able to work as a team member and possess the core values that meet the YMCA mission.
  • Maintain current certifications in CPR Heartsaver, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Safety and Risk Management, New Employee Orientation and other training required for YMCA youth workers within 60-90 days of employment.
  • Please note: This position will require some evening and Saturday hours.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $10.56 - $12.69
