As the Director of Strategic Planning & Projects on the Human Assets Strategy team you will collaborate with other members of the HA Strategy team to plan and execute on critical strategic projects that advance human capital work at Teach For America. In this role, you will not have any direct reports, but will own and support projects that require your project management, strategic analysis and excellent communication skills. You are a strategic thinker who loves to solve problems. You enjoy conducting analysis in Microsoft Excel and creating impactful PowerPoint presentations that tell a compelling story to move conversations and decisions forward. You love helping others and are great at building relationships across diverse groups of people. You make work fun and care about contributing to a great team culture. You will report to the Senior Managing Director of Strategic Planning and Projects on the Human Assets Strategy team. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Partner with the Senior Managing Director of Strategic Planning & Projects to lead the annual strategic planning process for the Human Assets team. 
  • Provide project management support for the creation of the HA Centralized National Support (CNS) catalog, an internal cost allocation tool that allows regional teams to access a range of discretionary HA services.
  • Conduct project management, analysis and presentations for a range of yet-to-be identified Human Assets projects, which will involve the following responsibilities:
    • Build project plans and activate stakeholders at all levels of seniority to see projects through to completion, which may include planning timelines, ensuring clear divisions of labor, and monitoring progress and risks
    • Conduct research and data analysis to identify trends, draw conclusions, and make recommendations
    • Design and deliver presentations and other communications that clearly and compellingly summarize project findings, make proposals, and/or influence senior leaders toward action
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across diverse stakeholders
Skills/Experience: 
  • Prior Experience: At least four years of relevant work experience, prior strategy experience preferred
  • Work Demands: Ability to travel occasionally (approximately once per quarter)

Skills:

  • Significant experience and comfort with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional strategic and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional ability to build and execute a project plan
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skill
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment and develop strong relationships
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required
