The Senior Network Engineer leads, manages and analysis all aspects of large and complex IT product and service to optimize organizations efficiency.
The Senior Network Enginee (SNE)r is a member of the Global Network Operations team and reports directly to the Program Director. Specifically, the SNE will be responsible for the implementation and overall management of the corporate data and disaster recovery centers.
In addition, the SNE is responsible for standards and support documentation for all company deployed routers, switches, firewalls and other critical communications devices. The SNE is responsible for providing an ongoing analysis of the network state and will be responsible for sizing the network appropriately. The SNE will assist the Program Director as directed with special projects requiring a high level of technical expertise. The SNE may be required to write or review RFI’s and RFP’s as directed by senior management.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
- Promote innovative technology as integral to TNC’s organizational effectiveness and value as a fundamental component of our organization’s culture.
- Ensure that TNC’s policies and procedures and IT standards are met and managed for ethical compliance.
- Research, design, analyze, develop and maintain current network and system architecture to meet future business objectives: IE: Network modeling, Network Security, Network analysis, bandwidth optimization, routing and switching and disaster recovery planning/implementation.
- Participates in infrastructure projects as intended to further the mission of the Conservancy and to extend field-based network functionality/performance/reliability.
- Crafts, Coordinates, and executes strategic objectives, provides expert level troubleshooting, superior customer service and detailed communications to internal and external customers.
- Creates and maintains system schematics, topologic drawings and comprehensive system documentation.
- Responsible for the design and deployment of Cisco routers, switches and wireless access devices.
- Familiar with network monitoring platforms
- Proficient in managing Palo Alto Firewall environment
- Perform all the critical functions associated with managing and maintaining an enterprise level Network with multiple branch offices connecting to HQ Responsible for training, instruction, setting the work pace and possible evaluating performance.
- Willing to travel and work long hours and weekends.
- Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
- 6 years’ experience as a business professional in IT or related field.
- Minimum Cisco CCNP Certification
- 3 years’ experience managing Palo Alto firewalls.
- Experience with IT systems methodologies.

- Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
- Familiar with IPv6migration
- Supervisory experience a plus.
- Excellent leadership skills; supervisory experience or managing a team of peer professionals.
