Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director, the Site Director is responsible for directing the Before and After School YMCA School Activities at the specified school.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • She/he will be responsible for the organization of the program and will relate directly to students, parents and school personnel.
  • Schedule includes Before School Program hours, After School Program Hours, designated Office Hours, School’s Out Camp, special events/training and may include Summer Day Camp.
Educational Background: 
A 4 year college degree in education preferred OR a minimum of 15 credit hours in education
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2-4 years experience working directly with children OR 24 hours training in YMCA of the USA National Child Care Courses and four years experience working directly with children.
  • A minimum of 21 years of age is required. Understanding and knowledge of children, their behavior and development.
  • Specific knowledge in age appropriate curriculum activities and behavior management techniques.
  • Organizational skills relating to handling child care documents and related paperwork. Understanding of the goals and philosophy of the YMCA. Maintain current certifications in CPR AED, First Aid, Safety and Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention, New Employee Orientation, Principles of Child Care,
  • Working with 5-12 Year Olds, SACC Director, or the ability to obtain within 60-90 days of employment.
  • Additional child care training also required for position.
  • Supervisory and administrative skills including supervision, training and evaluation of site staff and effective administration of the program at designated site location.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Hourly: $12.14 - $15.17
