Under the guidance of the Camp Cha-La-Kee Executive Director, the Program Director administers the policies and programs of YMCA Camp Cha-La-Kee including Summer Camp, Outdoor Education, Special Events and Group Camping. The Program Director serves an integral role in the successful running of all camp programs. He/she shares responsibility for the over-all daily operation of summer camp including scheduling daily programs and staff, hiring and training staff, program accountability, working with user groups and planning their schedule, and all other programming to facilitate a successful summer program for campers and groups. He/she will also share responsibility for Outdoor Education and Group Camping as well as the marketing and promotion of those programs. He/She designs and delivers program activities that are safe, fun and appropriate to the campers’ age and abilities.
- Responsible for over-all daily operation of summer camp including hiring & training of summer staff, scheduling camp programs and user groups, and responsible for the implementation of residential and day camp programming.
- Assists with marketing of all camp programs.
- Assists with the hiring process of Outdoor Education staff, seasonal and part-time and summer camp counselors.
- Assists with the development and implementation of special events and other specialty camps through the year.
- Assists Camp Director with group scheduling, staffing, programming, equipment preparation, program budget accountability.
- Assists as needed with facility cleanliness and preparedness.
- Serves participants and guests through Teen Programs, Weekend Groups, Outdoor Education, Team Building, and High Ropes facilitation at YMCA Camp Cha-La-Kee with a high degree of integrity.
- Attends Camp Advisory Board Meetings and other Association functions
- Assists with Annual Support Campaign to reach designated goal which allows more campers to experience camp.
- Assists in the teaching of all Red Cross training classes administered at camp for summer and seasonal staff
- Assists in year-round Waterfront Operation
- Must reside on-site

- Three to five years of related professional experience.
- This role requires experience with (and/or the ability to learn) High and Low Ropes Course facilitation, team building, food services, scheduling programs, hiring and training staff.
- Able to relate and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner.
Required Certifications
- Red Cross CPR, AED and Administering Oxygen
- Red Cross Instructor level certification
- Bloodborne Pathogens
- All other safety trainings as required
Salary: $32,000.00 - $36,000.00
