Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Ruth Lilly YMCA Outdoor Center, the Senior Program Director will be responsible for living on-site and overseeing the daily management and leadership of all programs, participants and staff related to programming.

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Senior Program Director will be accountable for the development and administration of the departments, personnel, program development and promotion, implementation and evaluation, staff scheduling and supervision, and financial operation in accordance with Center and Association goals, objectives and policies.  The Senior Program Director must understand their role in helping build relationships and a culture of excellence.

Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Recreation, Elementary Education, Environmental Studies or related field, or its equivalent in work experience,
Skills/Experience: 

This position requires 4-8 years previous experience with the YMCA or a similar agency.  The position requires broad knowledge and experience in the field of camping, with an extensive skill set in program operations. Applicant must have basic programming skills with special emphasis on youth and family activities, as well as, experience in a residential camp setting.  The ability to relate to all age groups is essential.  Knowledge of the American Camping Association (ACA) guidelines preferred.  Experience in the supervision and training of volunteer and paid staff, fiscal management and program development is essential.  An understanding of group work and team-building is also important. The need exists to be current with community trends.

Compensation/Benefits: 

$40,128.84 - $50,161.56
