The Senior Business Unit Associate provides direct and highly responsible administrative, technical and operations support to the SCE Core Office, regional leadership teams and state office staff. Determines work processes and methods for accomplishing assigned tasks.

Areas of Responsibility: 

Coordinates, monitors, and tracks a variety of processes and projects to ensure timely and accurate completion and compliance.  Trouble-shoots problems, provides assistance to staff and selected volunteer leaders and suggests alternatives to make processes more efficient.  

Support for regions:

  • Manage purchase orders, procurement and contracting needs for regions
  • Prepare, submit and coordinate approval of all contracts, related memorandums of understanding and statements of work
  • Manage logistics and purchase requisitions for regional meetings, including meetings held in the national office
  • Compile financial information and reports to track regional meeting expenses
  • Manage travel expenses for regional vice presidents, as requested, and manage travel approval and expenses for regional volunteer directors

Support for the SCE Core Office

  • Provide technical/operations support to states for media monitoring and social media tracking systems
  • Manage purchase orders, procurement and contracting for the Core office and SCE Leadership
  • Develop, track and disseminate monthly travel performance scorecard information to SCE leadership
  • Provide administrative support to the SVP in the Executive Secretary’s absence.
  • Provide back up support to the Executive Secretary to schedule and manage technology for large scale virtual meetings and conference calls.
Educational Background: 
Completion of an Associate’s degree in business management, business administration or other field and 2+ years of experience.  
Skills/Experience: 
  • Expert use of data management and visualization tools, as well as Microsoft 365, Excel and similar software programs, including the ability to create tables and graphs.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail, managing multiple tasks simultaneously and consistently meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work in a matrix environment with minimal daily supervision.
