Responsible for providing leadership, supervision and management to the Community Based Care Project (CBC) in Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto Counties. Specifically responsible for assuring the Project’s daily administrative and support services, comply with related federal, state and local laws and rules, and all contractual requirements. Oversees administrative and support program components.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Responsible for taking initiative in leadership, supervision and solution-oriented problem solving in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of human services contracting and interaction with related state agencies.
- Responsible for integration of YMCA service philosophies with state agency, contractual agencies and service collaborators.
- Provides oversight to administraive and support components of the Project.
- Act as liaison for legislators and staff in relation to meetings, constituent issues and visits.
- Support policy and system reform initiatives on a county, circuit and statewide level and present when necessary.
- Prepare and distribute written materials such as letters, program or issue collaterals and invitations to elected officials and other VIPs.
- Participates in quality assurance and COA activities and Councils.
Educational Background:
Master’s degree in social work, related human service field preferred or Bachelor Degree with additional years of commensurate experience and training required.
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years Child Welfare Experience with supervisory/management experience. Demonstrated knowledge of Human Services contracting and interactions with state agencies.
- Inndepth knowledge of issues of at-risk children, troubled youth and their families
- Organized, goal directed and motivated
- Understanding of government grants, contracts and licenses
- Ability to work well with community leaders
