Join the New York State Office as an Enterprise Community Engagement (ECP) Intern to help engage and educate AARP members in New York City with information that is relevant to them. You will collaborate as part of a team to coordinate community outreach and volunteer recruitment efforts that promote AARP's mission.
Areas of Responsibility:
The Community Engagement Intern for the NYC Office will assist in the following areas:
- Assist with the coordination and implementation of community outreach efforts for ECP and Local Advocacy pilots.
- Event and project management with excellent organizational skills;
- Assist with the recruitment of volunteers for staffing of community based activities associated with ECP and Local Advocacy pilots;
- Ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals with varied backgrounds and goals (volunteers, community leaders, partner organizations and vendors);
- Required to communicate through a variety of means based on the preferences of our audience and resources available (email, phone, social media, in-person, etc.);
- Serve as a representative of AARP at community sponsored activities;
- Skilled using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Social Media and online research tools.
Educational Background:
Interns must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or University, in their junior or senior years of their undergraduate studies, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
