If you envision yourself at the forefront of developing strategic alliances that empower the Downey community in their pursuit of healthy lifestyles while building an organization of staff and volunteer leaders to support and sustain it, this may be the position for you!
Your morning starts with a meeting with key community leaders and volunteers to plan a major YMCA event. You check-in with your management team and conduct any necessary over-site reviews and provide follow-up consultation on key operations topics at your branch. Later, back in your office, you begin planning for a number of committee meetings in the coming weeks. That evening, you have dinner with a Board Member and discuss how to make progress on pending agenda items.
- 6 (six) or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
- Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations and program development
- Experience in management and development of volunteer involvement. Ability to recruit top community leaders
- Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with Board members
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred
