Since 1858, the Scott County Family Y has been an integral part of the Quad Cities area. The Branch Executive will oversee the total operation of the branches, including membership, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies. Emphasis is on the member/participant and the satisfaction of their overall experience from initial engagement and enrollment to continual connection with the appropriate staff, programs and services. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for supervision of Child Watch, Member Services, and Custodial staff.   Responsible for supervision of the assigned branch Program Directors for Aquatics/Youth Development and Personal Training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Serve as role model to members and Y staff and, at all times lives the mission, vision and values of the YMCA movement.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the branches operations.
  • Develop, model and integrate procedures and practices that encourage and sustain relationships with and among members/participants. Evaluate data on the effectiveness of member engagement/participation to ensure and sustain relationships.
  • Recruit, develop, direct and engage the branch volunteer advisory Board.
  • Directs the financial development activities of the branches.  Coordinate fundraising with advisory board, staff, members and volunteers. Coordinate campaign efforts with a volunteer campaign director.
  • Oversee, plan and lead all activities associated with the Annual Turkey Trot fundraising special event.
  • Hire, train and supervise child watch and custodial staff. Assist Program Directors as needed in effective hiring of membership and program staff.
  • Assure facility and surrounding outdoor areas are clean, attractive and inviting.
  • 9.    Develops, manages, and monitors the branches operating budgets and meet or exceeds budget targets.
  • 10.Directs strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branches.
  • Participate in association program Quality Teams.
  • Work in conjunction with staff teams to continually improve member/participant engagement and experience to meet ever-evolving needs. Equip staff with the on-going knowledge, skills and abilities to engage, support and involve members/participants.
  • Hire, train and supervise child watch and custodial staff. Oversee and assist in training and supervision of member services and program staff.
  • Attend and engage in community functions and events to promote the YMCA mission, programs and services.
  • Ensure and provide effective communication of applicable information to members and staff.  Maintain and update information presented to the membership community within the facility.  This includes but is not limited to, bulletin boards, newsletters, flyers, posters, banners, and calendars. 
  • Monitor and update the website in conjunction with the corporate office.
  • Maintain certifications listed under Certificates and Other Requirements.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures of Scott County Family Y.
  • Understand and follow all safety rules and regulations including knowledge of emergency procedures and location of emergency equipment.
  • Regular and timely adherence to respective schedule/meetings.
  • All other duties as assigned by the President/COO.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s Degree in business, recreation or other related field required.
Skills/Experience: 
  •  Three or more years of management experience, preferably with a YMCA or non-profit
  • Ability to direct total operations through board volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budgets, marketing and public relations, and program development.
  • Demonstrated experience in board volunteer development and involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders.Established fundraising experience.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Proven track record of developing authentic relationships with others.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations. 
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $50,500.00 - $63,000.00
