Ensures our wellness center environment supports individuals in increasing their health literacy and greater sense of wellbeing. Supervise the planning, development and implementation of wellness programs & personal training. Develops, organizes and implements youth / adult sports.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community. Create a member-focused culture and model relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Identify new and innovative programs that target youth, adults, seniors and families with an emphasis on member engagement increased membership retention.
  • Recruits hires, trains, evaluates and places all fitness attendants, group exercise instructors, personal trainers, sports coordinators, and volunteers.
  • Maintains all equipment in ensuring safety and service.
  • Ensures cleanliness of all fitness and program areas.
  • Ensure that the inventory of equipment related to all programs is adequate to meet the program needs.
  • Schedules and secures facility spaces and athletic fields based on program needs.
  • Transpiration and sets up of equipment for games and practices.
  • Oversees the creation of classes/teams from registrations.
  • Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in program.
  • Organizes required parent orientation and coaches meetings. Develop program schedules, team practice and game schedules. Develops and distributes all program guidelines and handbooks.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • One to two years related experience preferred.
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • Within 30 days of hire completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.
  • Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $28,000.00 - $32,000.00
