This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Executive Director, the Director of Branch Operations overseas assigned areas of the operation including Membership, Aquatics, Healthy Living, Teens and Sports and participates in volunteer and staff development, financial development, and collaboration with community stakeholders. Areas of Responsibility: 

LEADERSHIP DISCIPLINES, EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience leading, influencing and developing a cohesive staff team, program innovation and expansion and member acquisition, engagement and growth. 
  • Proven background in building relationships, successful staff development, solution focused problem solving skills, program management and experience to working with diverse populations. 
  • Candidate must possess the ability to multitask in an extremely fast paced, every changing aspirational environment.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in exercise science, human services, recreation, business or related field, plus three years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, recreation, business or a related field, 
    or equivalent, preferred.
  • YMCA Multi-Team Leader certification preferred.
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Proven ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, membership acquisition and engagement, Health & Wellness and program innovation and development.

  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire.
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit healthy living or child development agency.
  • Ability to direct assigned operations including volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations and program development/management.
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with leading health, well-being and fitness operations, including group exercise and personal training.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • YMCA Team Leader or Multi-Team/Branch Leader certification preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid & other program specific certifications required upon or after hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. 
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
