Development Assistant

The primary purpose of the Development Assistant is to support all constituent events. Priority roles include supporting revenue increase, generating awareness and mobilizing volunteers.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Perform day-to-day administrative support for the Development Team that accompanies the following special events and development activities to include but not limited to Walk to End Alzheimer’s, The Longest Day, Galas, Golf Tournaments and RivALZ:
  • Learning and using data entry platform, Convio
  • Running Convio reports; Sending out emails; Making phone calls, or following up on messages received
  • Assisting with creative social media content and graphic design work as needed
  • Organizing and creating items for team kits (simple signs, mail merges, labels, etc.)
  • Assembling and mailing kits for various teams and businesses
  • Assisting with planning and implementing wrap around events and tracking RSVP for upcoming wrap around events
  • Preparing and working with volunteers for tabling events
  • Assisting with any day-to-day logistical and administrative needs for (5) Walk to End Alzheimer’s locations across the West Texas Chapter service area
  • Support development activities in four regional offices
  • Prepare and disseminate agendas and minutes and accompanying materials for meetings as requested
  • Maintain development office filing system and online databases, assisting with data base entry
  • Responsible for developing web communication via social media, chapter website and emails
  • Serve as a representative of the chapter at chapter events, community events and marketing meetings and requested
  • Assure compliance with Alzheimer's Association policies, standards and regulatory requirements 
  • Other assignments as requested by the Director of Constituent Events and Development department. 
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree preferred

Minimum Requirements

  • One year of office administrative experience
  • Two years' experience with Microsoft Office, including Word,
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Professional personal demeanor and presence in person and via telephone, recognizing role as the initial "face and voice" of the Association
  • Punctuality with an appreciation of the impact of effective coverage to the success of the Association
  • Superior self-management skills, as independent initiative and ability to collaborate are essential
