The Education and Volunteer Programs Coordinator supports the Director of Education and Volunteer Programs through the coordination of health fairs, support groups, family, community, and professional education programs. This position works directly with the volunteers who assist with these activities.
This position is also responsible for assisting the Director of Education and Volunteer Programs in key program functions related to family, community, and professional education programs, support groups, and health and community fairs.
This is a part-time position (25 hours a week) located at our Miami Valley Chapter.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist Director with logistics, promotion and coordination of annual conference and education programs
- Coordinate speaker’s bureau, health fair, and support group volunteers, including maintaining information in volunteer database and preparing materials as needed
- Manage education programs and support groups in Personify database including set up and attendance
- Assist with growing volunteer capacity to present educational programs and staffing health fairs (supporting as needed)
- Assist Director of Education and Volunteer Programs with logistics and promotion of annual conference
- Coordinator speaker’s bureau, health fair, and support group volunteers, including maintaining information in volunteer database
- Manage education programs and support groups in Personify database
- Assist in key program functions related to family, community, and professional education programs, support groups, and health and community fairs
- Organize and execute activities related to key program functions
- Refer concerns related to constituents to supervisor in a timely manner
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically Word, Power Point and Excel and Google apps specifically Google Sites, Docs, Drive and Calendar; ability to understand databases quickly
- State of Ohio driver's license, proof of insurance and access to dependable automobile
- Frequent travel within the nine-county service area (Montgomery, Greene, Clark, Champaign, Logan, Preble, Miami, Shelby, and Darke); Occasional overnight travel
Educational Background:
BA or BS degree preferred
Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations in the community Ability to plan and work independently
- Superior organizational skills
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
- Enthusiastic, organized, and self-motivated person who must be able to exercise excellent judgment, accept responsibility, and give careful attention to details
- Excellent oral and written communications with the ability to engage constituents with poise, confidence and professionalism.
- Be able to work under stress and be flexible where there are high expectations for meeting tight deadlines and for producing work that is accurate
- Must develop working knowledge about Alzheimer's disease and its impact on families and caregivers
- Autonomously work in the field, some weekend and evening work required
