The Individual Giving Coordinator provides project coordination and support to the Executive Director and the entire Individual Giving Team.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide administrative support to help fulfill the goals of the NPR Development Individual Giving program.
  • Support Executive Director and Individual Giving Team in moves management process and prospect tracking through database input, tracking, and reports.
  • Assist Executive Director in travel schedule and logistics (including flights, hotels, and expense reimbursements) and schedule team meetings.
  • Serve as assistant on maintaining Member station relations for NPR Development – participate in regular conference calls, act as a liaison to support the station communications and collaborative work, and staff any related activities.
  • Actively participate and support strategy development for donors and Member stations.
  • Act as the liaison to other Development team by participating and coordinating projects, and keeping constant communication, including:
    • With support from the Donor Relations, assist in coordination of cultivation and stewardship events; share responsibilities and provide support in the execution of event plans; support the Donor Relations team during department-wide cultivation and stewardship events.
    • Work with the Director, Prospect Management and Research and Database Manager to prepare a variety of prospect management, pipeline, and other progress reports as needed.  
    • Work with Writing and Communications team to coordinate the development of custom proposals and reports.
  • Coordinate the gift renewal process for major annual gifts, including maintaining an updated renewal calendar, coding, list pulls and letter merging. Work with the Development Writer refresh the renewal letter quarterly; coordinate the gift acknowledgment process for non-trustees.
  • Draft and edit letters and other correspondence to donors and trustees.
  • Enter requests for background briefings and work with Research to prepare materials to support Executive Director, Individual Giving with donor meetings.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience, preferably in development.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, set priorities and meet short deadlines.
  • Must possess good judgment and exercise diplomacy in dealing with a variety of constituents.
  • Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills.  Attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to interact professionally with trustees, major donors, and senior staff with poise and discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including an excellent telephone manner.
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of NPR, as well as the technology tools available to the Development Office, including the fundraising database system, Raisers Edge, as well as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong personal work ethic, collaborative, and results-oriented; combined with a sense of humor and perspective.
  • Must understand and appreciate NPR’s mission.
