The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, proven cause-driven leader for a tremendous career opportunity leading successful operations for a growing $22 million dollar organization. The Vice President of Youth Development must be a team motivator with an ability to create an environment that cultivates a culture of program innovation, staff development and fiscal responsibility.
This is a great opportunity with the YMCA to join this dynamic association. We are seeking a proven, self-motivated, cause-driven professional to join our team. Under the general direction of the Senior Vice President of Youth Development, this position ensures the successful operation of Centralized Childcare and assigned branches to include program development, budgeting, financial results, personnel management and community relations.
The Vice President of Youth Development will be responsible for delivering youth development services to include organization-wide standards and consistencies throughout all programs. In addition, the Vice President of Youth Development will provide supervision all of centralized childcare driving superior program quality, increasing program enrollments, and enhancing participant experience specifically in the area of achievement, relationships and belonging. This position ensures that their teams operate efficiently and employs a continuous improvement model to meet and/or exceed goals for participant satisfaction, financial management and overall growth. This position will oversee 500+ part-time and 13 full-time staff members, and a 6M+ budget. Critical areas of expertise include; managing program quality, development and implementation of curriculum programming, staff leadership, and proven results in growth in programs.
- Supervise and assume primary responsibility for the general direction of Centralized Childcare and Youth Development Programs. Supervise assigned direct reports through regular site visits and regular coaching sessions.
- Supervise the annual financial operating budgets for designated operations. Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and ensure successful management of designated units resulting in an annual balanced fiscal operation for the Association.
- Oversees the childcare billing and the call center
- Oversee the ongoing implementation of Centralized Childcare with emphasis on staff development, curriculum development and program growth.
- Ensures the operational growth of the YMCA through program expansion, program participant recruitment and retention, pricing strategies, new site development, and collaborations.
- Ensure the development, implementation and innovation of high quality programs through the supervision of the staff, resulting in annual program growth.
- Implements and oversees program evaluation to guarantee faithfulness to YMCA purpose, high quality and maintenance of YMCA standards.
- Serve as an effective member of the Association’s Senior Management Team.
- Attend Association Board meetings and other task force meetings as needed.
- Assists in providing leadership to Social Responsibility initiates such as food program, achievement gap work, and annual campaign.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
- Five or more years of YMCA Childcare experience preferred.
- Experience managing 15+ childcare sites
- Preferred experience with complex childcare systems or centralized childcare
- Previous YMCA budget experience of a 2M+.
- Successful track record of supervising large staff teams
