Performs general business administrative support for the California Southland office, including answering phones, data entry, purchasing supplies, social medial communications, and volunteer recruitment. This role would also help in assisting the Executive Director support of LLS’ mission.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Provide administrative and clerical support as assigned, including answering phones, greeting office visitors and data entry.
  • Provide general administrative support of office including ordering office and kitchen supplies and maintaining the kitchen and reception areas.
  • Assist with volunteer management including posting volunteer roles and following up with volunteer inquires.
  • May assist with select IT functions for the chapter including troubleshooting and local technical support.
  • Help with planning and implementing campaign communications plan across multiple channels
  • Update and maintain the LLS California Southland social media presence, including posting to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
  • Assist with managing and publishing monthly eNewsletters and updating the chapter website.
  • Assist the Executive Director with:
    • General administrative duties including data entry, expense reports, travel and reservations for events.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the LLS mission and programs to promote the field and campaign fundraising initiatives.
  • Provide office support for campaign staff as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Associate’s degree preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 2+ years of operations and/or office administration experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with standard business machines and computers.
  • Professional with sound judgment.
  • Solid analytical skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Occasional weekend & evening work required as needed at events
  • Possible minimal travel to support other chapters as needed
