The program director is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of all day camp, after school, and sports programming at the Grandview Family YMCA.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Responsible for preparing and managing the budget for the areas of responsibility
  • Develop, plan, promote and implement all programs for the areas of responsibility
  • Supervise the scheduling of all sports, day camp, and afterschool facilities
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise all staff and volunteers in areas of responsibility
  • Provide leadership and support for all part time staff in the YMCA especially for front line staff that assist in the implementation of all program areas and activities
  • Assist the Executive Director in the management of branch facilities.
  • Assist the Branch in special events as necessary
  • Schedule, staff, and supervise rental groups when needed
  • Lead periodic Association-wide childcare training
  • Serve on Association-wide committees such as childcare, strategic plan, etc.
  • Actively pursue and develop relationships within the community that help provide support and leadership for the local YMCA’s
  • Develop an annual plan for securing sponsorships and support for the Annual Support Campaign which provides scholarships for needy families in our communities
  • Leads and assists in Annual Support Campaign
  • Supervise Grandview maintenance staff
  • Supervise Grandview kitchen staff
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university and one to two years of related experience and/or training is required.
Skills/Experience: 

Required Certifications

  • Red Cross CPR, AED and Administering Oxygen
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
  • All other safety trainings as required

RECOMMENDED CERTIFICATIONS

  • Day Camp Certification (within 12 months of hire date)
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) (within 12 months of hire date)
  • Red Cross Instructor level certification
  • Serve Safe Certification
  • Lifeguard certification
Compensation/Benefits: 

 

Salary: $32,000.00 - $36,000.00
