Provide supervision and leadership to the Aquatic Department; Monitor daily pool operations to adhere to all health and safety regulations; Manage and oversee the aquatics budget; Create schedules for swim lesson classes; Develop and maintain lifeguard schedules; Hire, train and evaluate staff performance; Ensure that the mission statement and policies of the Kettle Moraine YMCA are carried out. 

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
  • Establishes new program activities and expands program within the community
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
  • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. 
  • Evaluates staff performance while developing strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. 
  • Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations.
  • Conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools. Secures and schedules pool facilities. Maintains accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance.
  • Conducts aquatic staff in services. Monthly for Lifeguards and quarterly for Swim Instructors.
  • Conducts lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings.
  • Creates, schedules and maintains swim lesson classes; develops and maintains lifeguard schedules
  • Administer the aquatics program. Organize, supervise, evaluate, and develop new and current aquatic programs.  Plan recruitment and training of staff.
  • Be on deck for special events.
  • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
  • Works with Program Operations Director to develop and monitor program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent, or one to two years of supervisory experience preferred
Skills/Experience: 
  • Minimum age: 21
  • Current Lifeguard Certification, Swim Lesson Instructor Certification, (YSL) or American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI), CPR and First Aid Certifications
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are required
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $38,000.00 - $41,000.00
