Under the direction of the Controller, the Association’s Accounts Receivable Coordinator will take responsibility of accounts receivable, customer service, problem solving accounts, data entry, assisting our branches and participating in cross-training within the Accounting Department. 

Areas of Responsibility: 

The Accounts Receivable Coordinator ensures timely collection of receivables and manages collections of YMCA of Columbia-Willamette related accounts while providing exemplary customer service to our staff, participants and members.

Job Specifics:

  • Data entry, track and record daily account changes
  • Maintaining utmost confidentiality on customer, participant, member and staff data
  • Customer Service data entry, billings, reconciliation and reporting
  • Resolve invoice, payments and account discrepancies 
  • Processing cash receipts
  • Cross-training of accounting functions
  • All other duties as assigned
Educational Background: 
College coursework in Accounting related field or 3 years’ experience in Accounting or equivalent
Skills/Experience: 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills within a diverse population 
  • Customer service background with significant experience
  • Able to effectively and respectfully work with staff, members and participants
  • Positive attitude initiative, flexibility, dependability and ability to work and problem solve as a team player
  • Detail oriented, self-starter, strength in planning, organization, prioritizing and follow through
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite

Essential Functions

  • Ability to work effectively with staff, participants, members and families
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to deal with high stress situations and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently.
