Under the direction o the Center Executive Director and under the guidance of the Center Program Committees, the Senior Wellness Director will supervise the development of health enhancement and wellness & aquatic programs in accordance with Association goals, objectives and policies.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • It is primarily responsible for working with fitness/wellness, aquatic programs, committees and projects related to health enhancement.
  • The Senior Wellness Director will directly supervise the wellness & aquatic staff to ensure proper training, consistent coverage of activities, and excellent member service.
Educational Background: 
This position requires a BA/BS degree in exercise science, physical education/related field or its equivalent in related experience with an emphasis on wellness and health enhancement
Skills/Experience: 
  • A minimum 4-5 years professional experience in YMCA/similar agency or health and fitness establishment. 
  • Well defined administration skills and abilities in the areas of personnel management, volunteers, program planning, income production, expense control, training, public relations and record-keeping and facility utilization, maintenance and care are required. 
  • The Senior Wellness Director is part of a staff team and must possess a leadership style that is team oriented. 
  • The position requires continual pursuit of further education in the areas of exercise science, wellness, aquatic, supervision, and members service. 
  • This person needs to have a good overall picture of the YMCA philosophy and values and hold current certifications in CPR, First Aid and Lifeguarding.
  • Due to the diversity of responsibility, a high degree of organizational ability is needed.  Strong skills are needed in supervision, public speaking, written and verbal communication skills and fund-raising.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $44,069.22 - $66,103.82
