The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Project Management Office (PMO) Manager leads the organization’s project management team and oversees the portfolio of enterprise-level projects. The PMO Manager promotes the use of project management principles, tools, and best practices in the execution and management of enterprise-wide projects.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Oversee the portfolio of enterprise-level projects, ensuring projects are implemented in alignment with strategic and departmental goals.
  • Lead and manage the PMO team in implementing large, complex enterprise-wide projects, ensuring projects completed are on-time and within budget. Provide daily management, coaching, and development of team members, and help them to achieve peak productivity and performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee project risk management through comprehensive mitigation assessment and planning techniques.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops to identify areas of improvement, and address and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure PMO processes, tools, and templates are appropriately utilized and updated to meet organization and industry best practices.
  • Monitor and manage resources, e.g., team, business unit, and external vendors, and ensure appropriate workload allocation. Track expenditures against progress towards goals. Provide feedback and support to ensure on-time project execution, within budget, and achievement of expected performance standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, perform data analyses, and report projects’ status and success metrics to leadership. Continually work to improve data analysis processes, tools, and procedures.
  • Work with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables in support of business plans. Estimate and identify resources required to achieve project goals.
  • Formulate annual initiatives and participate in developing the annual PMO budget.
  • Work with PMO Director to optimize the maturity level of the PMO.
  • Educate others within the organization on the value and functions of the PMO, project management principles and processes, and tools.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, or experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies and tools, e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Five years of project management experience, including enterprise-wide projects.
  • Three years of experience using project planning tools, e.g., Agile tools, Microsoft Project/Project Server, SharePoint
  • Three years of experience leading and managing people and/or project teams.
  • Three years of experience facilitating business and technical analyses meetings, focus group session, webinars, interviews, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Two years of experience preparing status reports and delivering management briefings.

Preferences

  • Two years of information technology project management experience.
  • Two years of experience managing vendor performance.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Preferences

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
