Areas of Responsibility:
- Conduct full-cycle recruiting, interviewing, hiring and on-boarding of Cause-Driven School Age Services (SAS) Program Staff, including a thorough screening of applicants for hard and soft skills relating to position needs.
- Develop a recruitment plan that includes community partnerships and continuously exploring and recommending new sources for potential candidates.
- Utilize a variety of resources to post and advertise opportunities, including, but not limited to: traditional advertising methods, social media, job fairs, and networking.
- Act as an Ambassador for the School Age Services department and the YMCA in all forums, especially community events and job fairs promoting job opportunities and the benefits of being a Cause-Driven Leader at the Y.
- Partner with the Human Resources Department to come up with specialized recruitment and onboarding strategies for School Age Services, as well as staying current with employment related requirements in regards to recruitment and onboarding.
- Track and provide support to applicants throughout the recruitment and selection process, including progress in the hiring process, including: reference checks, trainings, immunizations, and certifications.
- Maintain regular contact with SAS Program Directors and be able to anticipate their varying recruitment needs throughout the year, including high and low volume seasons.
- Organize and schedule staff to ensure that numerous sites are staffed fully, based on attendance, for each work shift.
- Approving and scheduling of time off for employees, and ensuring that vacant positions are filled to meet staff requirements.
- Maintaining on-call hours during the morning and afternoon programs to receive any notification of absences from staff.
- Track and create monthly reports on key metrics designed in partnership with the Executive Director to measure and predict staffing activity.
Educational Background:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Skills/Experience:
- Possess interpersonal skills allowing them to work with a diverse group of people
- Capable of multitasking and remaining organized in a fast paced environment.
- At least one year of hiring and scheduling experience
- Solid understanding of employment-related requirements
- This person will exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.
