Plans, coordinates, and manages solicitation and stewardship of U.S. government donors and provides guidance to program teams to ensure adherence to U.S. government donor requirements.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Identifies strategic government funding opportunities and leads efforts with colleagues at WWF US and across the Network, as well as grantees, donors, partners, consultants, and others to develop competitive proposals for submission to U.S. Government donor agencies.
  • Proactively identifies WWF initiatives appropriate for pitching to U.S. Government donor agencies and leads outreach to agencies.
  • Independently manages development of mid-sized proposals ($2.5M in value or more), and independently develops critical technical elements of very large (e.g.; $20M) proposals.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of U.S. Government Automated Directives System (ADS) Operational Policy and works closely with WWF US Compliance team to ensure adherence to U.S. Government policies.
  • Reviews proposal budgets for alignment with technical proposal; finalizes, and submits proposals, ensuring adherence to donor requirements and WWF standards. Demonstrates facility with the grants.gov and grantsolutions.gov U.S. Government submission portals.
  • Gathers intelligence and conducts competitive analyses related to funding opportunities. Provides quarterly updates to PGA leadership; analyzes new technical information, policy issues, and trends related to public sector funding, and advises teams accordingly. Keeps abreast of relevant programmatic issues in areas in which WWF has an ongoing interest.

Other Responsibilities

  • Reviews targeted technical reports for U.S. Government-funded projects, compliance with U.S. Government grant requirements, and adherence to project monitoring and evaluation targets.
  • Communicates with Executive branch agencies, as necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background: 
A Bachelor’s degree is required; a graduate degree in a related field is preferred.
Skills/Experience: 
  • Position requires six years of related professional experience, or advanced degree with three to five years of experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical proposal development and U.S. Government donor compliance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong proposal management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently under pressure to meet deadlines
