This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Association Aquatics Director leads the development and operations of aquatics programs, acting as a resource to association program/branch teams to advance our core programs and strengthen our community.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Acts as program-area expert and leads the development of association-wide program operating plans that promote program and/or membership growth for the YMCA. Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
- Develops and implements data collection efforts, including participant, staff & volunteer evaluation. Uses data and research to establish and implement plans for the quality growth and development of programs and services, in harmony with overall YMCA strategy plan.
- Developments program budget recommendations and supports program area to ensure goals are achieved.
- Facilitates communication and provides leadership. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
- Represents and promotes the YMCA within the community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and/or governmental entities. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies to advance the program association-wide.
- Ensures compliance with program-specific regulations and standards, including safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Works collaboratively with association and branch teams to coordinate annual training plan, marketing efforts, collect impact stories, and assists in purchasing of equipment.
- Supports programming team in the development and execution of special events and activities, including annual support campaign activities.
- Actively participates in &/or leads department and association meetings &/or trainings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent
Skills/Experience:
- Three or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
- Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fund-raising
- Prefer knowledge of and experience with diverse populations
- Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations
- Complete within 30 days of hire: YMCA Cause & Culture, Child Abuse Prevention and Safety Training (provided by YMCA)
- Program-specific certifications required
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
the community and successful clearance of background check

Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $45,245.00 - $52,710.00
