Dir. Member Involvement/Family Engagement

Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director or Executive Director, the Senior Director of Member Involvement and Family Engagement is responsible for effectively implementing the member engagement model with an emphasis on membership development as it relates to retention, promoting a positive YMCA image in the community, performing center marketing functions and Family Nights, special events, and development of other community-based programs.

Educational Background: 
A bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, child development, recreation, elementary education or related field, or its equivalent in experience recreation or related field, or its equivalent, is required and 3-5 years professional experience.   
Skills/Experience: 
  • Must possess outstanding public relations skills, tact, diplomacy, and a clear, courteous and professional manner with people and enjoy a high degree of public contact, both within the YMCA facility and the community.   
  • High level of written, oral and people-oriented communication skills and the ability to work independently and handle numerous projects concurrently is required.  
  • Ability to use word processing software, with database and spreadsheet software ability highly desirable. 
  • Ability to use desktop publishing for marketing functions preferred. 
  • Strong organizational and marketing skills are highly desirable.  
  • Experience and ability with maintaining website and utilizing other electronic media (e.g. social networking) to engage and inform members. 
  • Thorough knowledge of budget development and management, income production and expense control is essential.  
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with community organizations and corporations in promotion of membership, program and the YMCA mission.
  • *Spanish Speaking/Bilingual Preferred
  • This positon also oversees Play and Learn and youth enrichment activities including supervising staff directly or indirectly in these departments and volunteer recruitment, and member service training, as it relates to member engagement, satisfaction and retention. 
  • Must have basic programming skills with special emphasis on youth and family activities and volunteer recruitment May produce center/member newsletters and oversee all member events.
Compensation/Benefits: 

Salary: $37,353.25 - $46,691.56
