Manager, Alumni Impact

As the Manager of Alumni Impact in the D.C. region, you will maximize the reach and impact of our movement by connecting alumni to each other, to great opportunities, and to the work of Teach For America.  

You will report to the Director of Corps Member & Alumni Matching.  

Areas of Responsibility: 

Alumni cultivation, outreach, and support (40%)

  • Devise and manage a system to connect alumni to leadership opportunities and impact roles specific to the DC Region, while utilizing resources provided by the national team
  • Develop an onboarding scope and sequence for alumni entering the region and 2CMs transitioning into alumnihood. This includes connection emails, updates, welcome phone calls, and two semiannual onboarding events
  • Set vision and execute strategy to increase regional alumni completion of the annual alumni survey, leveraging the regional team and other stakeholders as needed
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to our alumni associations; coach & support them in the direction of alumni-driven initiatives such as social & networking events and career & leadership development opportunities
  • Connect alumni with LEE’s leadership development opportunities and organizing efforts
  • Co-develop a stakeholder engagement process that will increase cross sector alumni engagement & impact
  • Network with local organizations and community leaders

Project Management (30%)

  • Manage and execute events and initiatives focused on advancing alumni involvement and collective engagement
  • Organize, plan, manage, and execute 2CM-to-alumnihood programming, including Alumni Induction
  • Collaborate with regional team members to reach outcomes related to alumni impact. This includes the alumni giving campaign, corps member & alumni leadership council, and regional alumni events

Data Management & Analysis (20%)

  • Create, own & manage the project plan to ensure 2800+ D.C. Region alumni complete our annual alumni survey, gathering highly important data to support our regional vision and work locally
  • Analyze key survey findings to make data-driven based decisions on our strategic priorities and aligned actions to implement
  • Create, support, and/or maintain key reference and promotional materials for alumni (i.e. teacher directories, alumni newsletters, onboarding guides, etc.)

Regional Team Responsibilities (10%)

  • Participate in in-person interviews with corps member applicants during selection windows (about 6-10 days total throughout the year)
  • Matriculate new D.C. Region corps members during 4-5 confirmation windows throughout the year
  • Staff large-scale regional events such as Corps Member Induction often times for a whole day or multiple days at a time.
  • Participate in diversity and inclusiveness programming throughout the year
  • Attend all-staff meetings, retreats, and step backs throughout the year
Educational Background: 
Bachelor’s degree required
Skills/Experience: 
  • 3-5 years of professional experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience planning events and managing large-scale projects to meet ambitious goals required
  • Prior recruitment, community organizing, or career counseling experience are a plus
  • Teach For America alum preferred

Work Demands

  • Willing and able to travel 1-3 times per year for work and professional development purposes.
  • Willing and able to work events or initiatives that occur during night or weekend hours if that will help our team and region achieve its goals
  • Willing and able to travel by car throughout D.C. Region for work purposes
