The VP of Branch Operations of the YMCA of MEWSA will give leadership, oversight and direction to the Metuchen Branch and support the CEO in providing leadership to the overall operations of the Edison and South Amboy branches through their respective Directors of Operations. In this capacity, the incumbent will be responsible for the delivery of exceptional branch services, as well as the growth and development of programs & services resulting in a positive impact on the branch(s) and communities we serve. The incumbent will ensures consistent alignment of the associations’ operations, programs and community initiatives throughout the branches and ensure alignment with our strategic plan.
The incumbent will provide leadership in developing community relationships, identifying resources to enhance services, identify and cultivate community partners to strengthen our overall impact in our community and be a constant advocate for inclusion and diversity throughout the organization. Initiates the development of relationships with influential leaders to impact and strengthen the community.
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the development of staff and volunteers. Ultimately the incumbent will be responsible for the overall operational and financial growth and success of the Metuchen Branch and supporting the CEO in ensuring success for the Edison and South Amboy branches.

- Ensure branch boards and association quality teams are functioning at a high level and in tandem with the strategic plan, working to move the association forward. Must be able to articulate, model and champion the mission, values, vision and association goals to the Branch Directors of Operations, branch staff, board members and community leaders and have the ability to advocate for the Y with clarity and passion throughout the community.
- Ability to make well thought out, decisive decisions and see the decisions through; operate with the highest ethics and integrity with a vision of consistently and methodically moving the association forward.
- Outstanding community engagement, with a strong ability to identify and build positive relationships with community partners to advance our community impact. Provide direction and leadership in assessing community needs and providing new and improved programs that will meet the needs of children, adults and families. Identify opportunities to promote our mission to underserved populations in the community.
- Work with the CEO, Controller and Directors of Operations to ensure effective budget preparation, management and controls throughout the organization.
- A minimum of five years in a senior-level leadership position, preferably in a position that has provided significant exposure to operations as well as program and branch development of a similar size/scope operation of the MEWSA branches.
- Senior operations experience, managing a minimum of a $4million operation in the Y is preferred, but not required.
- A demonstrated track record of managing and growing diverse operations simultaneously in the areas of member and community engagement, youth services and wellness & health.
