This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Develops, organizes and implements high quality YMCA day camp and afterschool care programs.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Manages, directs and coordinates the school age child care programs for assigned locations. Ensures high quality programs and establishes new program activities.
- Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of staff.
- Assures compliance with federal, state and local regulations as they relate to program, including ADA accommodations where appropriate. Ensures that YMCA program standards are met and safety procedures followed.
- Provides for upkeep of assigned program sites and equipment and ensuresuncompromising levels of cleanliness and safety.
- Develops and maintains relationships with school administration, parent groups and other organizations and agencies related to childcare program. Responds to all agency, parent and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
- Maintains proper records/department files.
- Organizes special events for parents. Assists with YMCA annual campaign.
- Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
- Monitor and evaluate program statistics and ensures budget is met.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/Experience:
- One to two years of childcare experience preferred, as a supervisor of child care programs.
- Certifications in CPR and First Aid within the first 90 days.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $32,000.00 - $42,000.00
