The Roxbury YMCA is seeking a Single Site Program Administrator. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary based on skills and experience.
The YMCA Roxbury Program Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations for a designated afterschool program, including planning, coordination, and supervision of the program to ensure that families receive quality services which provide for growth in academics, social emotional development, and health and wellness. In addition, he/she ensures focus on programming that promotes healthy living, social responsibility, and youth development. The Program Administrator reports to Program Executive Director of Child Development and Camping.
Administration & Management
- Plan, schedule, and implement structured, high-quality programming that aligns with school day learning
- Translate EEC state regulations into daily practices and program policies
- Ensure the use of positive behavior guidance among program staff members
- Lead enrollment, recruitment, and retention of students & families
- With the administrator is responsible for hiring, training, orientation, supervision, and professional development of program staff
- Monitor attendance, staff hours, and secure central delivery of program fees
- Facilitate program evaluation and progress reports
- Maintenance of open, effective communication and interaction among the programs and partners; engagement of parents/families
- Performance of other duties as requested by YMCA supervisor
- Define and plan program to reflect Camp goals, vision, and strategic plan
- Ongoing recruitment of campers and staff
- Plan and run pre-camp and in-service trainings
- Supervise opening and closing day for campers and staff
- Develop routines, schedules, and procedures for camp operation
- Other duties as assigned
Leadership & Communication:
- Develop & instill strong, positive program culture among staff, students, families, and larger school and camp community
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with connected schools, civic leaders, business’
- Participate in networking meetings with other YMCA Site Directors
Family & Teacher Engagement
- Institute with Program Administrator a system for communicating with parents, teachers, and other school personnel on individual student needs and assessments
- Design and distribute newsletters to the parents & school community, highlighting the successes of the afterschool program
Effect on End Results: Effectiveness is measured by:
- The degree to which progress reports reflect children’s growth in designated outcomes
- Positive parental/child evaluation of program
- Positive reports from EEC site visits and continued progress on the QRIS scale
- The degree to which children are provided with positive channels in which to grow, learn, and develop
- The degree to which parents/families, other YMCA staff, and the community are engaged in the programs
- Director qualified by Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations
- Must be motivated, energetic, punctual, responsible, and exhibit a positive attitude to be an excellent role model for children and staff members
- Ability to lead, teach, and interact with parents, staff, teachers, children, and the school community
- Experience with the MA Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS) and related assessment materials
- Full commitment to the mission/philosophy of the YMCA
- Knowledge of and ability to facilitate Early Education & Care (EEC) regulations
- Excitement and positive attitude toward working with children
- Dedication to the pursuit of education (for self and students)
- Degree in a related field preferred
- At least three seasons of camp administrative experience preferred
- Ability to creatively schedule programs, facilities and staff
- Ability and experience in supervising staff and campers
- Ability to meet and speak with the public
- Ability to plan, originate, organize, and carry out daily and special programs
- Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control, strong supervisory and counseling skills
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications preferred/Will train if necessary
- Demonstrate leadership experience in managing a variety of programs, motivational skills and ability to communicate both orally and in writing
