Distribution Clerk/Document Center Assistant

Sort incoming mail for distribution and dispatches outgoing mail. Assist the Document Center as needed.

Areas of Responsibility: 
  • Delivery of interoffice mail within the Society’s headquarter complex.   Provide customer assistance for NGS & NGP staff at mail window (25%)
  • Prepare packages and parcels for shipment.  Responsible for daily mail operations using the FedEx, UPS and Hasler ICMC G2 USPS shipping systems. Order supplies and products required for departmental operations. (25%)
  • Work the customer service desk of the Document Center.  Serve as a backup for operating the copy machines as well as being available to review all output images for paper sizing, resolution and overall quality before finalizing formatted documents.  (20%)
  • Negotiate with various courier services in order to determine the most effective and economical method for the shipping large freight parcels. (15%) 
  • Logging incoming packages for delivery to tenants to prevent loss of mail and also confirming receipt of all Packages.  Campus ship training to NGS & NGP staff. (15%)
Educational Background: 
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Skills/Experience: 
  • 1 year of related experience.
  • Must be computer literate with strong oral and written communication skills. Must be organized and have strong record keeping and mail system operation skills.
