Under the guidance and supervision of the CEO, the Child Care/Camp Director will oversee operations of the School Age Child Care (SACC) program as well as the Summer Day Camp program. This position will include management of multiple different SACC locations within elementary school facilities in Harrison County. Operations include, but are not limited to: staff management and scheduling, payment/collections, program cirriculum development, cultivating relationships between parents, school administrators, state licensing representatives and others in the community.
Areas of Responsibility:
- This position will oversee 3-4 school age child care sites located within the county at school facilities.
- The Director is responsible for growing the enrollment and success of each site, providing the highest quality experience for all participants and potential participants.
- The Director will ensure that all requirements and regulations that are mandated through state licensed child care are satisfied at all times.
- Duties will include preparing reports for state subsidy reimbursements; staff recruitment, evaluations/counseling, dismissals; relationship building with child care and camp parents; identifying community needs as they apply to the child care and camp departments; ensuring that weekly payments are made on time and remain current; market child care and camp programs above and beyond the normal scope of program promotion at the Y.
- The Director will participate in various fundraising events and functions at the Y, including the Annual Campaign and Special Events that are held throughout the year.
- This position may assume other duties as assigned.
Skills/Experience:
- At least two years' experience in supervision of a child care program and/or day camp setting, or related program.
- Ability and desire to work with children ages 3 through teen.
- Knowledge/experience with the state's Department of Health and Human Resources child care licensing regulations.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment that may include evenings, early mornings and weekends.
- High degree of interpersonal communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality when necessary.
- Experience with developing and managing an annual budget.
- Ability to work as a team member and team leader, including working alongside other departments at the Y.
- Experience with computer operations, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.).
Compensation/Benefits:
Salary: $24,000.00 - $27,000.00
